Overall, the staff was really nice. I don't speak much Spanish - and in Madrid that can be somewhat challenging. But the hotel staff was was helpful with this. I also needed a later checkout which they were happy to accommodate.
My room was fine, but my friend's rooms had some issues with the airconditioning not working too well. Also - the bed mattress wasn't too comfortable (too flat and could feel the springs).

The location was excellent. There was a reserved parking for 3 cars in front of the hotel, if you are lucky like me, you can park your car for free in front of the hotel. The parking prices per one night is between 20 to 25 euros in Madrid. In my room the bathroom was large, new and clean. The bed was great.
The living area in the room was little. There was no place to put the suitcases. But it was because the bed was extra large which covered the whole area! Since the room was facing the Gran Via street, when the windows open, it was too noisy, close the windows, its quiet. There were hookers all over that area, but it was ok because the hookers in Madrid are actually standing next to an h&m store or a Starbucks or any place they find. It was a nice area even though there were hookers everywhere.

The location was excellent being right in the middle of the Gran Via. The buffet breakfast was varied and the staff were courteous and helpful.

I was disappointed by the ineffective air conditioning in the room!!! The noise insulation left much to be desired, as every conversation from the hallway was bothersome.

Convenience to several locations such as Metro/s, Plaza de Sol, Plaza Mayor, Atocha. Your staff was very helpful and having internet access was totally convenient.
The air conditioning was not fully functional leaving the room a temperate feeling of it is almost cold. Pillows were something to desire. They were flat and would have been better if they were full and fluffy. Otherwise I enjoyed the hotel.

An excellent central location with easy walking to all the main attractions of Madrid. Pleasant and helpfull staff and a good room with good facilities (in particular a room safe capable of keeping a pc Notebook). Breakfast was good value and well organised in nice surroundings. Everything was what we have come to expect from Petit Palace hotels over the past two years.
Our only adverse comment would be that the room safe requires a credit card to operate it which means that the credit card can not be kept in the safe !!!!

Location
The room was dark and junky looking. It looked like it had had no real upkeep for years.

great access to parks and major attractions for city strolls
I really enjoyed my stay with a comfortable room and the hotel being just 500 meters from Puerta del Sol made it super easy to explore the heart of Madrid. A lovely 15-minute stroll brought me to the beautiful Parque del Retiro where I spent hours walking and relaxing in nature.

We were a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children and we were delighted with the room, which was really big and comfortable for all of us. The beds worked out really well and we all got a great nights sleep. The room was clean and the beds comfy. We found the staff very helpful as we needed to print our boarding passes and there was no problem leaving our luggage once we had checked out, so we were free to roam the city.

the hotel is located in the major street of Madrid which is accessible to almost all major tourist attractions in the city. Its proximity to shopping malls, restaurants and the metro station is really one of the best points.
